ANTHONY G. BATEMAN YOUTH CENTER

511 17th Street W, Tifton

The City of Tifton held a ribbon cutting for the opening of the Anthony G. Bateman Youth Center on October 27, 2022. Construction of the center was made possible by a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) awarded by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, City Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), the Tift County Board of Education and numerous donations from the community. Many people at the City and within the community dedicated time to ensure the successful execution of the project. Dr. Tonja Tift serves as the Executive Director for the center.
The center features a multipurpose room, adult learning room, warming kitchen, computer lab and craft room.
