FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 17, 2025
TIFTON, Ga. – The Tifton Police Department executed a search warrant at the Super 8 by Wyndham Tifton Hotel on February 13, 2025, arresting four adults. Along with these arrests, Tifton Police were able to seize various illegal drugs, items used in the illegal distribution of narcotics, and stolen firearms.
The Tifton Police Department arrested the following individuals:
• Emily Atwater, 28 y/o female;
• Malik Merritt, 28 y/o male
• Jaoquinn Demonte Cunningham, 40 y/o male
• Reakeidron Singleton, 20 y/o female
The above named individuals were arrested on the following charges:
o Trafficking fentanyl
o Trafficking methamphetamine
o Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
o Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
o Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony)
o Theft by receiving stolen property
o Possession of tools for the commission of a crime
In addition to this list:
Cunningham and Merritt were also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Atwater, in addition to the bulleted list, was charged with giving a false name to an officer.
In executing the warrant, Tifton Police were able to seize amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone, marijuana, and cocaine, along with items associated in illegal distribution of narcotics. In retrieving these items, Tifton Police were able to seize stolen firearms that were also found in the Super 8 Motel room.
